Actually the thing I was reading isn't quite finished yet, here's a clinical trial still in progress for the rest of this year: https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02854995 … Guess I'll keep an eye on that

Another one, suggesting preputioplasty is a "good alternative" to circumcision: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0090429508008467 … And another! https://www.fimose.org/uploads/6/5/5/4/65544215/preputioplastyinchildren.pdf … "Preputioplasty is a faster, easier, relatively painless technique with excellent cosmetic results and lesser complications than" circ

Nice, but the original recommended circumcision in cases of recurring infection, and the second recommended it in cases of scarring, so my point still stands. In those cases we would have to go back and circumcise you, but it would be banned- so your dick would drop off.

I'm not saying it's impossible for a circumstance to occur where it could be an option, but it should be treated like cutting off an arm: an extreme solution to extreme problems when every other option has failed. Such would be absurdly rare. Routine circumcision is abhorrent

Only 77% of U.S. men are circumcised. It isn’t routine. It has multiple detailed, legitimate medical uses. So tell me if it fits the definition of mutilation? I’m still looking to have my mind changed here.

In 70 % of cases, the phimosis can be treated with a prescription-free salve from the pharmacy. For the remaining 30 % there's a stretching option or foreskin-preservative operation available. Everyone who tells another story is spreading wrong informations.

The corticosteroids are used with the stretching. That’s the 70%. Otherwise it’s time for surgery.

Although stretching is (also) part of the salve-treatment, stretching on its own can be another method of treating a phimosis. If circumcised people are able to restore their entire foreskin by stretching (over the span 4 years), you also can stretch the foreskin in scope.

Semantics, they’re both a part of the 70% and aren’t always effective. Circumcision is required and therefore shouldn’t be banned.

What you are describing is last resort medical circumcision where there is an indication (or pathology). That's ok & shouldn't be banned if it IS last resort. Routine circumcision of HEALTHY boys is unethical and should be banned.

It isn’t routine in Australia where I’m from. Like all surgeries, the parents are presented with options and are allowed to say no. You can’t make it any less routine.

Ok. Try 'non-therapeutic' or 'cosmetic' then. It IS routine in USA. Where I live in the UK non-therapeutic/cosmetic circ of babies is regarded as unethical by most parents and medical staff.
