    Bearberry (Arctostaphylos uva-ursi) from the Burren a few weeks ago. Very common on the higher ground and much more conspicuous than in summer.

    Great to spend Sat exploring Reenadinna yew wood in Kerry. Lots of native evergreens — yew, holly, Arbutus, Scots pine — make for a great winter forest walk. A sign pointed out the woods are low in wildflower diversity (though high in bryophytes, lichens & I imagine ferns too)
