Why are the 6-bit windows faster on the newer CPUs? That surprises me. It's good news since IIUC we can make the tables half the size now?

Point addition became so fast, that the constant time select became dominating. Having smaller windows, means select is twice as fast. The tables are not half the size, because you have 43 windows, instead of 37, but still 1.72X smaller. Good for cache too.
