This why it's good to use MS Word up to the point of being camera ready. I do this, for HTML too. Word is more convenient than any markup.

I couldn't tell you the last time I willingly used MS word. If I need a draft, I'll just write a txt in vim. Or usually just straight LaTeX

I make more money in MS Word than using any other software, so I love it. (It's what I use to draft and mark up changes to contracts.)

More relevantly, Word is good at WYSIWYG(-ish) math (soon, w/ LaTeX input) if you learn it. I'd rather read formatted notation than markup.
