yes… but why would you do it? Montgomery is not the fastest solution for Mersenne prime

Because you can write the code once and it works for every prime & even composite modulus.

I don’t disagree, but performance is critical in some cases.

still doing Montgomery for curve25519 is a waste of CPU time.
