I'm not sure. Seems pretty similar to the HashMap random key stuff, which IMO should have been WONTFIX'd, but was "fixed" fast.

critical differences: it was a regression, and it was a problem for the libs team. This is a lang team bug.

Does Rust guarantee that stack overflows are caught yet? That was a regression, since it did guarantee that before.

I agree that is an issue that I'm also hoping gets fixed. I can't remember what it's blocked on.

It's not blocked on anything. They could add back the same function prelude checks that were used in the good old days.

I was the one that suggested using stack probes and then they removed the prelude checks without implementing that.
