Reminder automation is a feature any office can buy already. Scheduling is a triage exercise, not first-come-first-serve.

I am curious now, maybe I just need new doctors; sounds like you think the "system works fine as it is".

Regarding appointment reminders, it is a QoS issue. We get about ~3 reminders prior to visit for baby's pediatrician.

Taking your example, I could get an appointment within 1 week with a pediatrician. No need for reminders.

IMO, the key is to correlate doctors' treatment (cost) effectiveness metrics, which determine pay, to patient compliance.

i.e. Show that patient compliance is low and implementing CRM -> improved compliance -> improved effectiveness -> more $.

IMHO workflow automation = measured workflow which = measurable results.

OTOH, patient-facing CRM tools might be considered part of the treatment which may require clinical trials to implement.

e.g. if a reminder -> improved compliance -> improved effectiveness, reminder becomes part of treatment protocol, IIUC.

yes, depends on the definition of "treatment" and "protocol" but that would be unfortunate interpretation of scope.
