@BRIAN_____ Also see: your perimeter firewall should not be have a WebUI written in PHP if you want it to be secure. -
@rhymebyter If you were to create a new web UI, you could drop the UI for most advanced features, & it had to be security focused, WWYD?

@BRIAN_____ In 2015? I would probably start over with golang. -
@rhymebyter Good choice, but many such routers are MIPS & there's no native golang compiler, only gccgo. Would be hard to mainline changes.

@BRIAN_____ Having used OpenWRT & relatives, they need more help than I have patience for anymore. -
@rhymebyter What are the top 3 things you'd like fixed, in terms of security?
-
@BRIAN_____ I'd love to see something similar, but BSD based, that isn't PfSense (dated pf & FreeBSD code bases, PHP webUI, ick) -
@rhymebyter Even the Linux drivers are difficult to get working w/ a large userbase. Making new drivers for BSD w/ 0 help would be hard.
