@ivanristic@a_z_e_t Right. Not an extension, and the conditions have changed over time (NPN presence or not, ALPN presence or not, ciphers)1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@sleevi_@ivanristic yea I gather that false-start may only be used with ALPN and TLS 1.2 with an AEAD nowadays.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes -

@sleevi_@a_z_e_t@ivanristic Firefox doesn't require NPN/ALPN for False Start anymore. And, FWIW, I changed that long after I left MoCo.1 reply 0 retweets 2 likes -

@a_z_e_t@sleevi_@ivanristic ALPN doesn't have anything to do with False Start. It signals "not old & broken," but AEAD does so as well.2 replies 0 retweets 1 like -

@BRIAN_____@sleevi_@ivanristic right. thanks for taking the time. my impression was ALPN&AEAD were common requirement among for browsers.1 reply 0 retweets 0 likes
@a_z_e_t @sleevi_ @ivanristic IETF is making a spec for False Start (w/ criteria similar to Firefox's) that may make things more consistent.
