He was probably one of those “”dickish” interns that med students, nurses and other interns wish they could stab right there outside nurses station with dull knife from cafeteria....(like all of them....simultaneously...)

That's what you concluded? SMH. The working hours are already humane. In the real world you will likely put in same amount of hours. Again, burnout as an intern? Lol.

I'm shocked that INTERNS who have been in training for 8 months are talking about burn out. I did not think the conditions under which I trained were unsafe for patients or physicians. I guess that's where we differ in our opinions. Let's agree to disagree.

I’m genuinely concerned about your lack of empathy for your trainees. Just because something has been a certain way for a long time, doesn’t mean it’s the best way.

When did you train? I'd say burnout has been a thing since literally House of God. We've called it different things but it's been there forever.

The breadth of medical knowledge and treatment, acuity of hospitalized patients, and impetus to discharge more quickly have all increased exponentially. The number of hours in a day have not. Why is it difficult to understand why that would lead to trainee burnout?
