I'm curious why there is such a lull in "Confirmed total cases" with the 27 reported on Dec. 29th, and then it goes quiet until halfway through January 8th. Thanks for any input.

It was the beginning of the outbreak when doctors were still working to identify the virus. The updates from officials were also less frequent.

All these reports ignore a critical number: patients that have recovered. The number today is 476, vs. 361 deaths. The cured number has been exceeding deaths for the past few days. Positive trend.

Except that they're only counting the deaths of CONFIRMED cases. Not people who die at home or while waiting to be tested at the hospital. And hospitals are not accepting people before they're critical.
