1/ Its time to #defundthepolice. There is a chorus of people screaming this from the rooftops all over this planet. People everywhere are pushing for defunding and abolition.
2/Canada likes to think of itself as more progressive than the US, but there, in cities like Minneapolis and Oakland, city councils are responding by completely abolishing police departments in favour of other services, and fully disarming front line police officers.
3/ Here, politicians can barely have a conversation about what people are demanding let alone considering changed conditions for Black and Indigenous people. It really goes to show how undervalued we are in this society. But we fight back, we push for change, we resist.
4/ Today we release the first of our new #DefundthePolice posters! We've worked with some incredible artists to create new art calling for change.
