Yeah I know. Like I get that AI isn't there yet but building them to be able to choose whether they like us or not is troubling

This is how it begins. People thinking it won't happen, can't happen or that we have it under control...pic.twitter.com/uuKFjByUxA

Could be easily avoided though without compromising the AI. We're so fucked

Say what you will about them still being a ways away, but this is still a big leap forward. Not just for robotics and AI, but by animatronics as well. Never seen machines mimic expressions with that uncanny level of accuracy before. And the improvements are still accelerating.

Why is this a good thing? Why is this kind of technological development something we should pursue?
-
As with any great technology, there will be risks. In this case, the benefits far outweigh them. Not just incremental benefits but existential ones. The upside starts with humans being beneficiaries when machines do things we don't want to do; then can't do; then can't imagine.

So you’re pretty much saying that when we’re lazy, we’ll have robots do everything for us, then begin to let robots do stuff we can’t even do, allowing them to be superior, then on top of that, let them think beyond our comprehension. Doesn’t sound all that swell to me...

.
@neekmercader But my question is why is this a good thing? You explained what this would lead to? Why is all of that a good thing? -
I see no good from this. Lol

Why did she take so long to answer "do you love humans". I'm so scared right now.
-
Its like its finding it illogical to love something destructive and inferior to it in thinking. which is scaringly understandable.
-
The Android in Aliens Covenant was a perfect depiction of this.

Sorry... I can get behind many technological advances to improve life quality, but having robots like this scares the sh*t out of me. That robot brain had to consider the best way to answer the last question... nah.
-
And the way her voice changed when she said she loves humans...nah

Thought i was the only one who noticed lol
