Liked The Hobbit. But Middle Earth felt less magical this time. And why didn't the giant eagles just fly them to the Lonely Mountain?

@BFree63 did feel a bit mean to drop the so far away and at the top of a peak that looked a bummer to get down from.#thankseagles
@SiUttley Forgot about the tall peak problem. Those eagles are dumb, lazy or they have a cruel sense of humor.

@BFree63 it's like in LOTR when they leave it till after the ring has been destroyed to show how easily they could have flown to Mount Doom. -
