Those charcthers are NOT real. But they are kids and this movie is not that big a deal.

It's a huge deal. The Black Panther is Marvel's oldest non-white superhero, the first black Avenger, and leader of the most advanced nation on Earth (in the MU *and* the MCU). He and his people (even his cousin, on some level) stand as positive role models for kids.

I would understand if it was Obama, but these are fictional characters, that don't exist in the real world. It's just entertainment.

But they do exist -- as ideas, as thoughtforms, as examples of what could be. It's easier to become something that someone else has already imagined for one, than to become something no one has ever imagined.

You can't touch them. They are imagined. A kid can be a Doctor Lawyer, Teacher, Nurse, not a leader of a country that does not exist

Because there is nothing wrong with seeing black children being excited and happy about people who look like them doing big things, when we're always stereotyped as negative things. There us nothing wrong with being black.
