It's so easy to start a food cult. Just say that huffing nitrous oxide cured your acne and you're away.pic.twitter.com/nHzm5VfQlK

Real shit. I developed scurvy when I was in marine corps boot camp. it was my first time ever away from home so i didn't wanna eat anything. when the doc told me that i showed signs of scurvy, i had to tell my drill instructor. he made me talk like a pirate for three days.

I heard about a guy who moved to Poland and ate nothing but white bread and American cheese for months
-
Why polish food is great. And EU laws on food production and preparation are light years ahead of America
-
Agreed. I live in Chicago near a very polish neighborhood and the food is good, hearty and go well with beer.
-
Oh yeah Polish food is great, he just had his problems
-

Getting scurvy to own the vegans

There’s vitamin C in any fresh food, including in animals foods — it’s why ppls who lived in terrains the explorers were visiting didn’t have get scurvy but the explorers who stuck to their provisions and storage foods did for refs, Jonathan Lamb, Scurvy Disease of Discovery 1/3

Vilhjalmur Stefansson ‘Fat of the Land’, even the Wiki in Scurvy, under Prevention and History -19c discusses this — the explorers who hunted didn’t get scurvy. The myth that it’s not in fresh meat came from by early testing techniques. 2/3
-
... the origins of the idea that there wasn’t enough to prevent scurvy came from the testing methods, iow, the concentration of vit C in types of meat tested wasn’t high enough for guinea pigs *who could only eat small quantities of meat* https://link.springer.com/article/10.1007/BF03014680 … 3/3

for more up to date info about distribution of vitamin C bovine tissues https://www.dsm.com/markets/anh/en_US/Compendium/ruminants/vitamin_C.html … (and if anyone is so inclined, tell the USDA to update their databases, to reflect the complete nutrition that red meat provides)
