A token firing without answers or reasons of DPS Sgt. Juan Maldonado is a form of "erasure," where a corrupt power structure projects it's ability to use illegitimate force however it pleases as a message to all. DPS McCraw is the problem here, not one of the 91 officers he hid.

Do not conflate the Friday news dump rapid and unexplained firing of an important hidden figure, DPS Maldonado with the new & essential issue of high ranking DPS Captain Betancourt. He's the one who needs to be fired. Maldonado needs to give ANSWERS as to what occurred FIRST.

He should be fired and charged. His resignation would be the cowards way out. Our state agencies need to be held accountable and it starts at the top. The only way to get there is to vote Abbott out. McCraw has been lying for Abbott since day 1. #Beto #Uvalde
