Of course libraries and librarians are my literary muse! And there's a predecessor to 's "Miss Silk," the librarian who shepherded my youth and who inspired my début novel. Some noticed that Miss Silk first appeared in : Reading in Black & White!

Today is the birthday of one of my favorite mystery writers, Walter Mosley, who wrote, “Every day that we wake up is a good day. Every breath that we take is filled with hope for a better day. Every word that we speak is a chance to change what is bad into something good."
