Confusion over this is what, I believe, is driving the spread of one of my pet peeves, the replacement of who/whom by that: "He's a man that doesn't understand." Things are "that," people are "who."

You should seriously consider moving past this peeve, as there's no support for it historically, linguistically, idiomatically, or any other -cally.
