We're not going to be forced to eat it. We should all be buying higher wellfare British chicken anyway. Maybe this will make people think more about where their meat comes from.
-
Part of the deal will be removing labelling so we can’t see country of origin....but please remember many people cannot afford higher priced chicken so will welcome cheap poor quality import despite the dangers

And salads.
. The chlorination process is the chickens simply pass through a chlorine mist spray prior to packaging & evidence suggests it’s safer than current EU treatments. The hysteria around this is ridiculous -
The US has 10 times the rate of food borne illness as the EU. Chlorine washing chicken doesn't work, raising the chickens thigh deep in chicken faeces is the problem

This issue is not chlorination it is why they have to chlorinate. Do your research Ben before jumping on the populist bandwagon.

I'm sure you're intelligent, so I'll tell you. Chlorinating chickens doesn't kill all bacteria. Salmonella, in particular, can protect itself against chlorine enough to maintain a health risk. US food poisoning cases: 14.5% UK food poisoning cases: 1.5%

it just can't make business sense to import a cheap chicken from the US when they can be reared in UK - or am I missing something?
