All agree it was an atrocity. It’s all semantics for political points and you make it obvious which side you land on.
-
Some semantics are important. There is a difference between a genocide and an unintentional mass killing during the course of a war. If leaders can sweep past transgressions under the carpet, they will be more likely to commit future ones.

WAS GENOCIDE AND NO ONLY ARMENIANS . ASSYRIANS AND GREEKS OF BLACK SEA ALSO. IN 1910 THE 20% OF THE POPULATION IN TURKEY WAS CHRISTIANS, NOW ONLY THE 0,2 %.
-
This can easily be explained; Ottomans territory in 1910 are not the same as Turkey’s territory in 2019. Turkey lost a big portion of its Christian population because of that. There is also the fact that a lot of Christians migrated after the Great War.

“Trump’s predecessor, Barack Obama, promised as a presidential candidate to recognise the massacres of Armenians as genocide but after his election did not use the word.”
