It's not a joke, and they aren't slave (I mean, us, cause I'm one of the election staff), they're "volunteers". But yeah, we're working for almost 30 hours straight.

Wait? 7 million people helping count votes from a country of 260 million people... that's like 40 votes each person has to count. How difficult are these votes to decipher?

Many of them had to walk through creeks, villages, etc. They walked on foot and carried those boxes, esp. in remote areas. Probably dehydration and lack of food too, in addition to rest.
