Circumcision is barbaric. There's no need for it anymore anyways since personal hygiene and medicine are both far more advanced than they were when this practice began.

In most places in the world it has never even been practiced. The hygienic reasons are just pseudoscience.

Religious privilege alllows that sex organs be sliced up without kids’ consent, yet if the adults cut off an ear there would be arrests & outrage - Religion is so wrong as are bad parents for sacrificing their children

All involved should be charged. All of them. Incl all those who let it happen.

Why the hell are people still mutilating the boys with lies of why circumcisions are needed. It is flat out abusive, wrong, and evil. Time to end circumcisions and the ritualistic abuse it really is.

“circumcision at a migrant centre in Italy”... had he been Italian, he would have had a doctor, a safe procedure and the attentions he deserved to be circumcised, according to his culture. But he wasn’t. The segregation in a migrant center killed this boy.

Oh bull shit. Circumcision killed him like it kills dozens to hundreds in American hospitals every fucking year. https://www.researchgate.net/publication/326040454_Factors_associated_with_early_deaths_following_neonatal_male_circumcision_in_the_United_States_2001-2010 … Circumcision is a vile senseless mutilation and it's gambling with a child's life. Even the best of surgeons will eventually kill a kid.

Circumcision should only be carried out for medical reasons--not religious ideals.

Male circumcision is genital mutilation. I don't think parents should do this to their male infants. Wait until the kid is old enough to make an informed choice - at the very, very, very least. I could be even harsher about this topic but I won't.

Or have the procedure covered by the national medical service so poor refugees don't turn to back alley "doctors"

Why should other people pay for an unnecessary and potentially dangerous practice which is done to someone who can't give their consent?

So babies won't die is a good reason I guess.

So you are saying that boys in Europe die because they are not circumcised? Or that people should be allowed to mutilate their babies for no reason?

Babies can die or be permanently damaged because of circumcision, regardless where it's done. But you still think that others should pay for it, too?

If it can't be completely eradicated then it should be done by a professional doctor. If somebody else needs to pay for that (like society) and fewer babies die - then yes, I'm all for it. I think there's room here to be compassionate but pragmatic.
