Or, and I'm just spitballing here, we could uphold the first amendment.

wtf. I had a Jehovah’s witness friend growing up who was allowed to step outside of class anytime we did the pledge because it was against his religion. I don’t understand this
-
I never said the pledge but I still stood up, as respect which we are taught.
-
That's your choice though Kimberly which is being unlawfully taken from this girl. Idk what y'all aren't getting about the first amendment

If you can't pledge allegiance to the flag of the country that's giving you a free education maybe one should try and find a country less stringent....good luck with that.
-
So you believe that enforced, mandatory patriotism is "freedom"? Do you understand what the word freedom means?

To swear allegiance to inanimate objects should require a psych eval.

Everyone should have a right to stand or sit for a flag at the end of the day its just a flag you can't force someone to stand for a flag

The freedom to protest should always trump patriotism. Patriotism is an idea you can either subscribe to or not. Freedom means it's up to you.

You believe mandatory patriotism and enforced standing for a pledge is "freedom"? Do you not understand the word?
-
Freedom has nothing to do with abiding rules that a school has. She has the freedom to go to aby other school she wishes to
-
The school doesn't have those rules, the state of Texas does. And she does NOT have that freedom, since the same would apply at any highschool in Texas. She's been banned from school, unless she follows the state's mandatory patriotism laws. How is that not about freedom?

I'm obviously Canadian, yes. It's literally in my screen name. Is this some sort of revelation for you? It doesn't change the truth of my words.
