Yesterday, we inadvertently misreported a small section of the speech by @realDonaldTrump to the UN General Assembly. We quickly linked a clarification to the offending tweet but the original tweet continues to be shared without our correction. So we have decided to delete it

While it is good that you finally clarified the situation, the bias and fake news situation in general is making thousands of people not trust you any more. Do you realise this BBC? Do you even care? #PatronisingViewersIntelligence.

Bias and fake news from the BBC? I don't think so. Give us an example.

I genuinely hope for your sake that you are joking. If you are serious then, like thousands of others, you need to wake the heck up. I’m truly not being argumentative, I just despair that so many people are so unaware and naive.

I am not joking but I am an in Australia and only get the world service. I am a news junkie and find the BBC the most trustworthy source available. Every organisation makes the occasional error though.

Please don’t rely on the BBC being unbiased and factual. Please. I’m serious.

@BBCWorld have lost all credibility. Massively failing, not fit for purpose and shameful. It is not a small thing misreporting the word ‘war’ for ‘more’. You can’t downplay the immediate reactions and implications rising from that mistake. #Shocking

In your eyes do they lose credit for the misquote, or for taking too long to correct it? You can’t honestly expect a news agency to never misquote somebody can you? There are a lot of sites that would hide this correction in a small edit somewhere or just not bother.

Anyone can mishear/mistype whent hey are in a hurry. The BBC lose credit for knowingly keeping a horribly wrong tweet in place for 24 hours and then trying to excuse the debacle with jokey hashtags like #OurBad and #HonsetMistake

If a doctor made that kind of mistake with one of your family’s notes, it could result in their death. I get that no one is perfect but the BBC are the BBC! Simple basic proof reading. Absolutely no excuses. People lose their jobs for less.
