Very wise that Swiss voters rejected what amounts to food tariffs dressed up as some kind of social improvement scheme. What is worse than "unethical" food production ? Ethical starvation and deprivation.

How could sustainable development possibly increase prices and decrease availability? The whole point of sustainable growth is to decrease costs and waste and increase viability of foods natural to the season and the region.

A sad day when fear mongering wins the day. If you want cheeper food etc brake up the huge private monopolies and regulate a truly free market place.

Odd that the Swiss voted against supporting their own farmers and agricultural systems

Good for the Swiss people. This is part of the UN’s Agenda 21. Do not believe in Green lies. Sustainable, buy local, these are buzz words for eventually controlling population in large slums (cities).

The Swiss, who pay A LOT of money for everything anyway, probably don't want to pay even higher tariffs.

The major problem is food is already eye-wateringly expensive in CH already.
