It was inevitable. The major whingers will be the multinationals who set up shop in China and equiv for low cost production, and low tax Watch the local manufacturing industry in the US pick up.

the @realDonaldTrump is a simple and selfish man. He waived tariffs for Apple. To hurt this man China should also specifically add tariffs to Trump affiliated companies.

they cant match that. why coz there is nothing left for them to tax. yet the US still has more 200B on imports. he promised to impose taxes on all the 500Bn on imports from last year. if someone wants to out compete you or over take you then make things fair. fair trade simple

Tariffs are used to protect against free market activity. In the long run these measure will fail because china is not dependent on exports to the US.

thats the same thing Trump wants for the US. why always be dependant on china. its the only way this will stop. atleast he understands business better than most of us commenting here. why? coz he is a successful businessman. give him benefit of a doubt. its not even 2years.

See that's not how economics work. U don't want to use outside intervention to protect yourself from natural free market forces. The point is such measures are only short term solutions

they can raise taxes on the 60bn imports but thats it. if they do,there is more 200bn. but me i think what POTUS is doing is the right thing. it has to be balanced on both sides not like it was last year. 500bn to 160bn. anyways lets wait and see

What many fail to understand is that the factories in China that supply the US also supply every other nation. So not only will China lose export trade to the US, but the also lose those exports to other countries as the factories will relocate entirely.

It's a two way street, there'd be no need for retaliation if low or no tariffs were established across the board.
