No it can't. The country has its challenges regarding crime. But comparing South Africa to a war zone what are you going to say about US cities such as Chicago, Atlanta, Saint-Louis just name a few?

The USA are at 17,250 murders a year. Nigeria 17,843. Mexico are at 24,559, India are at 42,678 and Brazil 61,283, way way above South Africa's 19,016. All those countries have not being declare a war zone at the best of my knowledge. Is BBC working to discredit the SA image?

You need to consider populationshttps://www.indexmundi.com/facts/indicators/VC.IHR.PSRC.P5/rankings …

Even though. SA crime is a tragedy. What is happening with white farmers is more a political game than a genuine land issue. Politics are using the animosity of few to gain votes and privileges. Nothing else. But the country is not a war zone.

Problem is that in a "war zone" the probability of death is evenly distributed. In South Africa there are specific (poor) areas with extremely high crime rates, and most people are murdered at the hands of someone they know.

Common now. You guys are the racist and not the other way around. The lands doesnt belong to you anyways. This is coming from a neutral that lives in SA
-
Who does it belong to?
-
At least I am dumb and not a rasist. I work for what I want I don't command anything from government...

I hope you're not going to twist it and make it a racial thing. Crime in SA affects all races. We're all concerned about it except criminals themselves.

Celia Barquin has been murdered in IOWA USA, does it make the United States unsafe for white female? Does this tragedy makes the US a war zone? I don't think so. Let treat all murders for what they really are. Let not give criminal a ground to hide. Generality.

So, South Africa is not the extremely dangerous place statistics tells us. Although, when I visited I was told most places not inhabited by white people were considered lethal. Good to know they didn't know what they were talking about.

South Africa is a dangerous country I will not deny it. I lived here 14 years and heard gun shots three times only. First time was in hillbrow at night. And hillbrow is a dangerous neighborhood. Second time was at fourways at night still. I was not far from the mall, so it could

have been a robbery happening. Third times it was in my neighborhood (very quiet place) some burglars were shot at after trespassing on private property. These things happen in countries like the USA, the UK, France, etc. Just be cautious of what you do in SA.
-
And where you do it. Many people have been visiting this country and have never had any issues. Poverty and laziness is a factor of criminality like many other countries.
