English is the official language of Florida. The employee had to know at least enough to serve the customers. Imo the manager of that Taco Bell is at fault and the one that should get fired (first).

It’s not the official language of Florida, but I appreciate your storytelling.
-
Hahahaha The English as Florida's Official Language Amendment, on the ballot as Measure 11, was on the 1988 ballot in Florida as an initiated constitutional amendment. Amendment 11 established English as the official state language. It was approved.

I had a similar experience in the Montreal Airport. When the waitress found out I was Canadian she refused to serve me unless I spoke French.
-
Well in Malaysia they refused to serve me because I am African . Instead the Chinese/Malay man said there's an African eating place down the street

-
Unfortunately that happens so much to people from Africa or African decent. In the US they seem to be going backwards in killing black people for no reason. I am sorry that happened to you just because of your skin colour.

BOYCOTT TACO BELL

Don't be an asshole. One jerk in Florida does stupid shit and you want to put hundreds of thousands of people, who work at franchises owned by thousands of different people, out of work?

The employee is a scapegoat He didn't speak English & said so honestly
Taco Bell needs to answer why they had no English speaking employee there
& the customer will win if she sues Taco Bell
-
The employee was a she and did speak English, since she was responding to the customer correctly in Spanish.
-
nowhere does the BBC article state the employee could speak English
many people can understand that English is being spoken, without understanding exactly what & certainly lack language knowledge to respond -
She knew enough to respond to her questions correctly... she was just being a b*tch
-
"She knew enough to respond to her questions correctly" >> your presumtpion, no evidence "she was just being a b*tch" >> your hatred spilling over

-
I speak Spanish and live in Mexico. I don’t hate anyone and don’t feel that, you need to speak English to live in America. I also watched the video, which you apparently didn’t. She understood perfectly. She was being antagonistic on purpose.
