        The reason the EU put the Irish Border in their demands is because they want the talks to fail. They don’t want to give UK anything. Eire has forgotten that they were bullied by multiple referendums until they agreed to EU treaties.

        Ireland had a say in those referendums. The British people weren’t consulted by their government. We rejected Nice and Lisbon. They were renegotiated. We accepted the amended treaties after our concerns had been addressed. Not bullied.

        I travelled this road every day for a few years. During foot and mouth crisis in 2001 there were checkpoints at border and that was hell!
