Senior Tories are frustrated by how much power Ireland has had in the Brexit negotiations, especially over the backstop, says our political editor Nick Watt. "The Irish really should know their place," one said https://bbc.in/2RLstJK  #newsnight | @nicholaswatt

&there in one simple sentence is the reason why some Tories are still living in the colonial past & why no-one can trust us politically/business wise. Why would any future trade deal have any success when they know Tory's will renege on any political/business deal they set up?

No, it's like seeing a neighbour set fire to his house. He has some annoying habits and he's the neighbour who tells your kids to 'fuck off' at Halloween but you don't want to anyone's house burn down and you don't want the house next to yours on fire.

Hey, Nick could explain how Tory MPs haven't worked out that Ireland is one of 27 countries united in negotiating with the UK. That is 27 against one. Where the hell do they think power lies? Do they think we still have an emp..... oh, whoops....

Hey Robbie - how many of the 27 countries are piss-poor tiny statelets with a fraction of our population and GDP who are used to being part of someone else’s empire....this is about Germany and UK and France.... everyone else is a victim....

I am Irish and I live on that border between Derry & Donegal. We didn't ask for a British Border in Ireland, History dictates that one is there due to centuries of British rule and mismanagement. The border was ignored during the referendum. I'm glad it will screw your Brexit.
