Sorry to see Emily attempt to bully the Foreign Minister in this fashion. He stood up for himself well, despite her trying to block his answers. He is right that he is responsible to the Hungarian electorate and hardly needs moral instruction from Newsnight.

I thought the interviewer treatment of him was disgraceful. Her personal option clearly showing through with anger and horrible looks. Not giving him time to respond Disgusting

Interviewers are supposed to be impartial but
@maitlis and most of the BBC clan can't hide what they feel. Watch this nonsense here...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TGJZQPARAIc …

Emily, sorry but that was emotional rubbish. Paxman & Day surgically teased out truth. You stand on a hillock blurting moral scorn via a megaphone. That’s not journalism, that’s religion.

At least the Hungarian govt have the bravery to say what they think on this subject. It's not racist or anti-foreign, they just don't want to end up like the UK, France or Germany.

Take-home messages from tonight: - Populist parties are all about identity, "us", and defending borders - populist parties get along well, even across borders - Us/them definitions are surprisingly fluid - Brexit roots in "us/them" rethoric Bonus fact: Tories are fed up with May

Also,
@maitlis can (marginally) loose her temper during an interview -
She perfected virtue signaling masquerading as political discourse
