Absolutely this is what should've happened. The BBC is effectively breaking purdah rules if Johnson now fails to show. For Johnson, it will merely be a calculation of greatest harm to the Tory push for re-election. This is a terrible mess for the BBC to be in.
Exactly, openly attack the credibility of the competition then let the ones controlling your budget away without scrutiny, thus giving them an advantage. Appalling.
