So taxpayers have paid for them to be bought and installed. Now the same taxpayers are paying to remove them. What a waste of public funds. Could have spent that ££ on the homeless!

The decision to put them on there in the first place was clearly made by someone mindless sitting at their nice warm desk.

The best way to stop homeless sleeping on park benches is to support them with temporary shelter while they get back on their feet and vote the heartless representatives out of office.

And then allow them to claim benefits so they can eat, clothe themselves for attending interviews & find permanent accommodation.

The council person who dreamt this must be sacked immediately. The thoughtlessness and the expense is incredible and heads must roll ! Complete and utter nonsense !

The person that designed these should be handcuff to them for just one night in this freezing cold weather don’t you think !!

So are they going to be given a roof over their head now, or just the benches?! It's below freezing at night now, and the UK stands by and allows people to sleep outside. Not enough accommodation? I don't believe that for a second. #cannotbebothered

Lock up the " criminals " I don't mean those who might be forced to sleep on a bench I mean those who authorised the placing of them on the benches.
