Breastfeeding was starving my little boy as I had a low milk supply. Vouchers that I can spend on whatever I want > feeding my boy?! What an offensive and discriminatory study. My formula fed baby is doing great thanks

Me too! Formula from day 2 and he’s now a thriving 4yo. Fed is best.

Too much pressure put on new mums to
#breastfeed already. It should be the choice of the Mum. It has great health benefits but current system almost vilifies those who struggle & adds pressure to an already nervous time. -
This! As a new Mum who struggled, I’ve felt nothing but vilified (often by heath professionals) for stopping after 7 difficult weeks.

My wife was pressured into breastfeeding after 5 days of near bullying we realised she wasn’t producing the milk our son needed we were in effect starving him. Not every new mother is able to breastfeed and the pressure new mums are put under is extreme.
-
As a new mum who has recently experienced the same thing, well done to your wife for making a decision that means that your baby was fed and that everyone was healthy including mum. The pressure (and the guilt inflicted!) is unreal and unnecessary!

I was lucky enough to be able to breast feed both mine easily. It's quick, convenient and cheap. But neither did I hesitate to top up with a bottle, despite being told the sky would fall in if I did. Listen to the advice then ignore it and do what's best for you and your family.

Oh goody! Yet another way to make those of us who cannot breastfeed feel more guilt and failure.

Or you could respect a woman's autonomy? That's priceless.

Horrible idea. What about the women who just can't do this? Does that make them a less complete mother?

That’s fine if you’re able to breastfeed. Some of us don’t lactate or get mastitis. What matters is a fed baby!

This is utterly ridiculous woman should choose how they wish to care for their child there are far better ways of encouraging women to breastfeed such as support groups and showing different nursing positions. That said there are several reasons breastfeeding goes wrong
-
Should we shame those who are unable to breastfeed their babies for what ever reason? I know from personal experience how hard it can be, my daughter went on nursing strike should I have refused her what she needed in that moment?

This upsets me. I was dismissed as a bottle feeder. I support breast feeding Mums but it wasn't for me. My baby had a happy Mum, Dad time as he could feed her too and so was a happy content baby. Don't force Mums to do something they're not comfortable with!!

It's hard enough being a new Mum without the breastfeeding mafia making you feel like a failure if you can't, or don't want, to b/f. As long as baby is fed it doesn't much matter how it's fed.

It seems obvious that if you pay someone to do something, there’s an incentive for them to do it.
