But none of those vids show any snow worth talking about! M25 looks to have less than 1/4 inch. London looks particularly clear. Other places look to have 1 inch at most (Redditch a bit more?) Is half the country actually reeling at this? We have become a nation of incompetents!

Snowing since half seven this morning, three inches deep on ground and continued snowfall in rural Essex! Travel difficult by road, rail and public transport.

I have no doubt there is some serious snowfall around the country, BUT it is not shown in the BBC vids; that's my point. Would you show vids of football when reporting on cricket?

Is snow not a usual thing in England?
-
Not like this lol. But I don't mind the snow
-
Apparently I need to move to England. I'd take rain over snow any day.
-
You would fit in. We've got used to the rain because that's all it does
-
Count me in! Who needs sunlight anyways??

I never understand why lots of people and services in the UK grind to a halt when we get a few flakes snow that stops for a day. Imagine the snow In Russia, Canada and Scandinavia. We used to get a lot more snow in the UK, but still not as bad as those nations.
-
It's not just a few flakes. It's about 10 inches where I am.
-
Congratulations your both lucky and unlucky. Go and build a snowman. Phone your boss and say you can't come to work because your snowed in.

Are Sussex & Surrey the only counties to have gale force wind & rain?

I feel for all folk in the UK. How do you cope with 1 sometimes 2 cm! Be brave - it’ll pass
-
I know ridiculous Richard. Even worse down south much gnashing of teeth when they get a slight flurry. At least up here in the north we just call it "get your big coat out" weather
