Should have builders employed by councils. Build council houses. Force private rent down and house prices

Build more houses, yeh maybe. Ironically the house next door to me has been boarded up for almost three years now. The council can't even chase up the landord let alone do something about it. There are so many houses around the UK which are derelict. These need to be put to use.

How about stopping foreign investment in London's housing market that disadvantages working Londoners finding affordable housing; £300,000 (and more!) for a 1 bed flat is just unacceptable anywhere.
-
To follow-up, have a look at the new development at Elephant and Castle! 1 beds start at £500K, 2 beds at £1M and 3 beds at £1.5M! And they're not big enough to swings cats around!

No point building them if no one can afford them, or private landlords snap them up as a source of income.. Put more focus on council houses & stop selling existing ones off! Seriously people, use a bit of common sense... Or, get people in charge that have at least an ounce of it

He won't do anything. He's left it to market forces and he's happy to remain it to be. Talk is cheap.

The U.K. population is projected to increase by 10m by 2044. I suggest the political focus should be on reducing the increase by introducing policies to discourage the population explosion. This will help take some of the pressure off housing, education and the NHS.

Any chance we can have new hospitals, primary schools, secondary schools, doctors surgeries and dental surgeries built to cope with the ever growing population along with more reservoirs to provide water to these homes.
No I thought not

If homes aren't built truly affordable, some areas soon won't have anyone to work in essential services! Stop buy to let and foreign investment! Local cheap to rent homes for local people are what's needed!

And what about actual proper infrastructure e.g roads and local services to cope with the extra demand? Maidstone for example has become a joke loads of houses no road upgrades to cope.
