Is this "despite Brexit" or "due to Brexit"? I'm confused, especially as I know the BBC doesn't have a "nothing to do with Brexit" setting.

There should be a law introduced about forcing people to wear a poppy..wear one if you like, afford the same to someone who doesn't want to.

It’s remembering the fallen , they both lost young men so it’s only fitting they both wear poppies .Its a case of just showing respect

And this is breaking news why???
-
Because there had to be discussions with FIFA about it.
-
Indeed BBC should have given it a sub title: FIFA comes to their senses... in this case at least.

Yay! A new way to enforce remembrance onto people. It’s what they would’ve wanted.
-
you dont have to remember if you dont want to. you are free to forget.
-
Remembering and being forced to wear a poppy are two very different things. Woe betide any BBC presenter who is "caught" not wearing one!
-
this is about football teams, not BBC presenters. And even so, are presenters forced to wear them? Not as far as i know...
-
Ditto with England football players. They'd never hear the end of it if they were "caught" not wearing one on the pitch. Forced "remembrance".
-
they are playing for england. Is it really that much of an issue to wear a poppy on rememberance day? Really? remembering people who fought for their freedom? Are you really fighting the good fight here?
-
and by the way, no england player has expressed feelings of not wanting to wear one. You seem to be offended for them!?! Even though they seem perfectly happy to wear a poppy.

There were a lot more wars in history than just England v Germany. Ireland India Iraq and many others have suffered throughout history and that's only one starting letter of the alphabet. Saxons destroyed so many cultures with their imperialism.

Well said.

-
Would that be the same BBC that made the Cookie Monster wear one on The One Show?
-
They stopped Quentin Letts from wearing his on a show.
