An absolutely ridiculous culture in the #UK for issuing penalties, often incorrectly. What a huge waste of taxpayers money.

In UK you pay for NHS dental treatment unless you are exempt charges (eg on certain state benefits)

My mother 80 was told her dentist was on a course and she could see a stand in. After her appt and £20 later she was told to rebook next week when her dentist was back....my aunt had a similar experience at her dentist......its not just the 'system'

Difference between contribution & income-based ESA can trip people up. Apply for free/reduced care with form HC1. https://www.nhsbsa.nhs.uk/nhs-low-income-scheme …

& really annoying for the people who receive these penalties, who then have to waste their valuable time to appeal. Nothing to smile about.

This is some dystopian keich. England has charged the most vulnerable £4m for failing to keep dental appointments?
