Those 12 hour days are why they also get 14 weeks of holiday every year.

Ah, the politics of envy is alive & well! Make 'em work till they drop with exhaustion & start whingeing when your kids' education suffers.
-
I am a 'kid'. And I have found that my eduction depends on one thing: me. Teachers do a good job but should stop moaning.
-
2 weeks off for Christmas, all summer on holiday, but because they have to do some marking at night they think the world's against them?
-
"Some" marking? What do you think some marking is? Working until at least 10pm at night is not some marking, working all day Sunday too.
-
As I said, what is lost there is gained in added holiday.
-
We will have to agree to disagree. Teachers work incredibly hard. It is a stressful job with long hours and they do work during holidays too
-
I agree that they work hard and have a stressful career, but that's why they are compensated with holiday. That my opinion.

I'm yet to see the fruits of their 'efforts'. A generation of device obsessed idiots unaware of what
#magnacarta is - u must be so proud -
Of course parents have no role to play whatsoever...

I was referring to the lack of education - the issue of manners, morals, propriety - is a whole new issue of late. But I totally agree!

I know one truth: Good teachers don't have time for lunch breaks.
-
Nor are they able to go to the loo when they need to or have a drink between lessons, bring back their assistants!

Our children are being overwhelmed by ridiculous curriculum currently being forced upon them too. Ridiculous expectations

A private sector that depends on the literacy, numeracy and education in general of its employees. Thank teachers for that.
