hey there's a shortage of nurses, so let's discourage anyone taking up the profession by taking away bursaries - yep that'll work

being a student nurse, I could not afford to be on this course without the support of a bursary. It's unaffordable

Student nurses cannot take part-time jobs like other students as they also have to work so many hrs as part of their training!

I think in the past some chose this career, due to bursaries & lower uni cost. If they've got a true vocation, they'll still apply

not true. I'm a HCA and would love to progress to nurse but no way can I afford it, even with bursary a push!

it's harder for mature student with responsibilities. But most are kids coming out of sixth form who don't have them.

true, but it's a shame when you want to progress as I do, but have to stay as HCA.

I understand. My daughter paying £9000 a year. I can't see why they can't swap training costs for service on the wards.

Not sure why nurses are a special case. All students can argue to be subsidised. Unlike some most nurses go straight into a job
