He better have done something truly awful because he is BRILLIANT at what he does and has been for years on end. Loads of famous people have said debatable things on their social media so I hope this isn’t being blown out of proportion. It’s a loss not having him.

My guess is he was having a glass of wine, arguing with another Twitter user that happened to be black & he said something along the lines of stop acting like a big Ape. He didn't call the guy an ape but for Beeb that was close enough to the line. Game over after 40 years!
