According to the replies, I’m in the 0.00001% here, but there is NEVER a scenario in which we should celebrate for the death of a human life. I don’t think poaching and being eaten by lions are exactly an equality on the “karma” scale, folks. Jail? Yes. Disgusting responses.

You're right. It's not karma. Karma would have been the elephant or lion shooting the hunter while it slept, and then photographing themselves with the body - before eating it and leaving only a pair of trousers behind!

I’m not defending poaching here. If you’re being intellectually consistent, I’m guessing that you believe all humans that have consumed meat deserve to be injected with hormones, forced to live in small cages, and then slaughtered and be feasted upon on a table.

I'm not glad the guy is dead. Like many people here I simply have no sympathy. He took on wild animals and lost.

Then you didn’t even fall into the category of people I was tweeting about. I understand that perspective. I was tweeting about people who are actively celebrating his death and who somehow found joy in another human’s death. Just seemed pretty cruel to me.

On one level you are right, celebrating another person's death seems cruel. But let the punishment fit the crime? Trophy hunters and poachers are selfish, non stewards of the creatures we share our earth with. They take life, just like a murderer of another person.

I’m not downplaying the horror that is poaching. I believe we were created to watch over the animals and protect this earth. I just believe people are being intellectually inconsistent. Do the workers in the meat industry deserve death? Do all nonvegan humans deserve to be eaten?

Eating meat isn't illegal in the US. Poaching was illegal where this hunter was.
