        There is no guarantee that just because somebody can write to the standard of a first that they can do a job better than someone with a 2:1 or lower. Should do practical interviews and test real life skills not base it on grades.

        There is also no guarantee someone who can’t write standards can do a better job than someone who can. Lawyer need to write report or other papers all the time, can’t hire someone who is incompetent to review case and write

        Agree. Just think grades can be effected by personal circumstances as well and don't always reflect how you might perform in working life.

        People work hard to get a first. Regardless of pathway or university, a first is an indicator of an individual’s effort and work ethic. The inability to get ‘good’ jobs at the end of a degree is down to a lack of such jobs.

        it doesn't make a difference. half of graduates are in non-graduate jobs anyway. it's not what you know, it's who you know. The BBC is the worst for that kind of thing.
