What were they related to? The fact that they got caught? Was that the misconduct?
-
It was a separate inquiry into how the injuries were disregarded by police. I believe the 2nd step is finding out whether the injuries were caused by police or by the bouncers. The fact that police lied is separate to their potential involvement in the injuries caused.
-
Gross negligence makes them guilty of it whether they caused the initial broken vertebra or not, The police are fond of saying "If you've nothing to hide, you've nothing to fear" Clearly someone feared something as they've hid the truth.
-
Gross negligence doesn’t liquidate into being guilty of causing bodily harm, but it’s definitely a difficult issue purely out of a legal perspective. In my own opinion, I think the officers involved should face very hard legal consequences, but the law won’t always agree.
-
The fact they lied is regardless if they are guilty of it or not extremely questionable and definitely points fingers their way. There’s something frightening about this entire case that only makes me hope for justice for him and his family.

The police are in a position of duty of care to serve the country and its people.. these officers should serve a life sentence for ruining a young mans life.

Someone got his ass kicked. Well should have obeyed lawful commands. Somehow his actions are someone else’s fault, per usual these days. Maybe shouldn’t have got kicked out in the first place. Let’s start there.
-
Where does it say his actions are someone else’s fault? The article is about the officers misconduct. Also how should ‘not obeying lawful commands’ lead to someone being left in the condition he now has to live in?

This is not a use of force complaint. The complaint is about misconduct and not following policy in the aftermath. Please read and understand the article before drawing your conclusion.

Total respect for firefighters and anyone in public health, but you can see why people hate the police.
