And abuse by homeless beggars on women walking alone who don't give money should also be classed a hate crime

I agree, but isn’t that a separate issue. Most homeless people aren’t harassing women, but I would wager that most homeless people have experienced abuse whilst on the streets.

Probably and agree they should be left alone but bringing attention to the fact that near where I live its a problem they hassle and abuse single women

Does this mean stopping the police imposing endless public space orders to shuffle "undesirables" out of the city centre so wealthy out of town visitors don't have to feel guiltily as they do their shopping?

"Hate" crime is a daft concept and only leads to unequal policing. Forget the whole thing and police equally.

Look...at some point this "hate crime" nonsense is going to reach saturation point....why don't we just cut to the chase and deem every crime a hate crime and we can spend the time we save down the pub. Our laws are becoming a parody of themselves.

I don’t get all this ‘hate crime’ labelling of stuff. Surely anything that is now a ‘hate crime’ is covered under current law anyway?

It's kinda standard to be protected. They don't have a home it shelter. that should not stop them from having the same rights as everyone else

They are called rough sleepers because they are not homeless, they are offered shelter but deside not to take it, in most cases

With cold weather on its way let’s be mindful of the less fortunate. A chat or even a smile can make all the difference to someones life🙂 We are NOT asking for donations. It’s a shame this needs to even be pointed out. We’re out regularly giving items to rough sleepers, talking to them, and seeing if we can help. If you feel you’d like to support that visit our site. 100% Non-profit social enterprise /http://linkey.org.uk
