That will go down like a lead Montgolfier with French hoteliers. Brits pay for 80 million nights-worth of hotel stays in France each year.

I am sure we can do the same to the French in the UK if he wants to play silly. Maybe they can just claim asylum, or maybe behave like adults and leave them be.

If we're to face this sort of vindictive spite from shitstick little nonentities like Macron I'm sure we can, in turn, deal with the status of EU ex-pats here on a country by country basis. Bye bye, French!

All these remoaners singing the EU’s praises, all these countries showing there true colours only your friend when everything’s going the way they want, France are no friends of ours never have been never will be
-
What were people expecting though? That everything would stay the same? Why wouldn't EU countries like france put the same restrictions on UK travellers / workers as any other non EU country?
-
Because we clearly have a more unique relationship and I would have expected both sides including us to guarantee the rights of U.K. citizens currently living in the EU and vise versa the rights of EU citizens in the UK
-
That’s the decent thing to do, people have screamed at our government for being outrageous for not guaranteeing eu citizens who live hear the right to stay but how is the French government any better and yet I hear no protest against that
-
Have you not noticed that Mrs May and her team have failed to negotiate or agree anything as part of the UKs withdrawal from the EU? We're not going to get any concessions from them.
-
But it shouldn’t have to be a concession that should be agreed straight away that citizens in both countries can stay that’s separate from the trade issues and everything else that’s just decency, which clearly the EU has little off, about what I’d expect from France anyway
-
They’ve always hated us
-
The people living in these countries should have been the first issue resolved. But the government's attempts at negotiation just haven't been proactive enough. They can't even sort out the NI border which is basically the same situation. Hopefully something can be worked out.
