Not really, they think people are better off if they work. They sometimes use blunt instruments. Dehumanisation of the political opponents is one of the viler elements of the modern UK Left. Blair created a benefit dependent underclass being paid to fester & vote Labour.

people that can work should work, that is not an issue, I think if you are capable of working and refuse to do so then you should not receive help. However there are people with real reasons for not working, those are the people that are being punished

Not punished, administered incorrectly. The state of the civil service and local government is a joke. The firms being used to carry out Govt contracts take the piss. We need to change this so we pay a good wage for a good service. Get young talent & people whom care in.

I saw the removal of £30 from societies most vulnerable as nothing but pure evil, this country never ceases to amaze me with what we can and cannot afford. The system did need overhauling due to labour letting everyone take the piss but Tories went too far

Indeed. I think the Tories actually tried to be compassionate this time, I think IDS really thought he would make things better for people. That's the scary thing, we have such a shithouse system of targeted govt agencies & private firms, we can't be humane even if we try!

Taking someone's income away for 3 years and automatically assuming they are a fraudster when fraud is less than 1% and food bank usage growing 3000% is not compassionate. Wtf is wrong with you?

UC includes all disability claimants. The amount of disabled people who have their benefit cut/sanctioned is huge. 70% of tribunals found in favour of claimants. This shows that UC is not working. It doesn't work.
