If the first post on here wasn’t this Alan Partridge GIF, then the world is fucked. Thank you James for ensuring we aren’t.

Dear BBC, As a country we are in absolute crisis and you think this is news ??
-
Spoiler alert: it is possible to have news that's not only crisis-related; it's also possible to have story content which other people find newsworthy, even if you don't.
-
But this was posted to the bbc uk news twitter feed - which it isn’t. It would have been better posted to the
@BBCNewsEnts twitter feed - where people who care about a celebs lives can read it :) imho -
The feed clearly says it includes "news, features and analysis". This falls under the "features" description.
-
Features would be clutching at straws a little when clearly there is an entertainment feed. To me features would be the more in depth analysis of events and situations - the recent pieces on plastic pollution as an example

If this is all you can find to waste license payers' money on it's obviously high time the licence fee was got rid of.
#AbolishTheBBC -
Or to put what you're saying another way... This story doesn't interest me personally but rather than acknowledge that it might appeal to a demographic I'm not in, I'll call for the whole BBC to be shut down.

-
Then fund it by subscription. Those that want to watch it can pay. Those that don't want to watch aren't forced to pay.
-
Once again, your argument that because an entertainment story about Ariana Grande didn't interest you, the BBC should be shut down. That's a ludicrously self-centred view of what's newsworthy.
-
Lost all credibility as a state funded broadcaster. If it wants to continue it should be as a private company paid for by subscriptions. Surely you can't be worried that there won't be enough people willing to pay to hear about Ariana Grande?
