I’ve seen the queue outside the job centre so I’m giving that one a body swerve - I’ve heard comedians are good at dancing though🙄

Now that's a GREAT idea, for so many reasons - social, entertainment, health, self- esteem. The best idea anyone has come up with in ages.

They may be introverts like me...I don't think dancing is helpful for everyone, maybe some, but not all. Various hobbies should be offered.

I love this idea 💜 it's such a shame to read some of the comments, if only people would read the article and spend some time with someone who is lonely before making such flippant comments. Fair play NHS brilliant ideas 💜

I don't think dance lesson on NHS is way to go. But there are some folk who don't have any friends or family, mainly older folk. And loneliness is a killer, it's just invisible. I don't know what the answer is.

Loneliness is a killer. I think this is a nice idea and preferable to prescribing anti-depressants.

I am still intrigued with this research. Is it physical or mind loneliness? How come one become physically lonely? With so many things to do on the BBC radio 4? Or ones mind get ill? Sorry bewildered.

Old people seldom get touched and human touch, when wanted, is good for us. It's why we squeeze someone's hand or hug them when they are upset.
